I'm sorry, but what in the hell is CCP doing with code that even goes NEAR the boot.ini file? It has absolutely NOTHING TO DO with the game, it only has to do with passing the location of the OS boot files to the NT loader. There is absolutely no reason for them to have any code to muck around with this at all. This is almost right up there, with an "un-install" program years back in the Dos era that just deleted the C:\ Drive
But as we all know CCP devs don't make ANY mistakes at all, which is why they don't need testers.. Bah... Every other software company on the planet has testers to test their software before it releases, because DEVS MAKE LOUSY TESTERS, they are too arrogant and full of themselves, and only believe a program will be used one way.
Anyone that is giving CCP a pass on this doesn't have any knowledge of software development. This is absolutely idiotic...
It's like going to the doctor to treat a cold, and getting your arm chopped off.
I'm tired of CCP just saying, oh sorry, we screwed up, you can't play the game for hours/days, and no you won't get a refund of time lost because of our screwups. Oh and ship movement sounds is busted, but I guess the Devs didn't notice, because they were too busy congratulating themselves on whatever.
Bah..

Anyway, I see that right now there is no way to get to the premium content patch when having downloaded the clasic one.
The only question I have about all of this is how on earth could a patch system mess about with a boot.ini file? Because: - The file is not part of your system - There is no reason to try and update/alter it - There should under no circumstance be a 'del C:\boot.ini' command in any program
Then again if you are stupid enough to run any operating system with root rights you should expect and accept that these things will happen from time to time.
ps, CCP please add this scenario to your test cases for next time
What test cases? Testing, what's that??
